Audio Evidence
EVP: Electronic Voice Phenomena most commonly refers to any or all vocalizations whether human or animal that is NOT audibly heard at the time of the recording.
Sometimes, there are other sounds that are NOT audibly heard during a recording but are later heard during analysis (i.e., typewriters, gunshots, glass breaking, electronic manipulations, etc.). We lovingly call these OEPs: Other Electronic Phenomena.
We present here just a sampling of the EVPs and OEPs that we have recorded over the years. To date, we have well over a thousand recorded. We strongly recommend the use of quality earphones when listening. Thank-you.
Old State Capital-Baton Rouge, LA.
After a long night investigation, while Maria is thanking those present an EVP is recorded saying "you look sleepy".
Historical Cemetery-Baton Rouge, LA.
While taking a series of photographs, an EVP is recorded saying "can I see it".
Jackson State Hospital-Jackson, LA.
EVP session in the area below the main floor (basement level).
While talking about the sign saying this is a ‘fallout shelter’, an EVP is recorded saying “nostalgic times”.
St. Joseph Plantation-Vacherie, LA.
Tape recording at the bottom of the inside stairway.
While standing at the bottom of the stairs inside the house, waiting for a team member, an EVP of a child is recorded asking “can we go up...to the residence”.
Myrtles Plantation-St. Francisville, LA.
EVP session upstairs in the oldest section of house.
Audible responses are not always vocal and not immediately recognized (in this case by Ken and myself). This is an example of audible responses using musical tones. This is also an example of why EPLA conducts all EVP sessions, with three people or less. In the background you will hear the ‘group’ of people talking; calling out and walking around. It seems, Ken and I were not the only ones thinking the ‘group’ was interfering with our session. As the last of the ‘group’ was finally leaving the area where Ken and myself were, the EVP “get out, get out” was recorded…it is very clear.
The Haunted Mortuary-New Orleans, LA.
Recording of an OEP in the basement hallway.
While in the main basement hallway, the sound of an old manual typewriter being used was recorded although it was not audibly heard. Only Ken and Maria were investigating the basement at this time! Research found that the basement had originally been the main office for an insurance company prior to being a mortuary.
Myrtles Plantation-St. Francisville, LA.
EVP session at the Gazebo.
After singing the song Dixie (which I only included the very end) an EVP was recorded saying “I love you”.
Old State Capital-Baton Rouge, LA.
EVP session on the main floor of the Rotunda, the day prior to the investigation.
Audible responses through a Trifield EMF meter. The EMF responses are the ‘chirp-like sounds’ you will hear when asking for Sarah Morgan to contact us on the following night when the investigation was to be conducted. An EVP recorded says “it’s Sarah”. I have repeated this EVP three additional times.
